Ok so i told my g/f that i need space!?

OK so i told my g/f that we need space so she moved back out... well we were together (living together and all) for about 1 yr and 3 months when ths happened .. i told her that I need time and i just think she is kida clingy so yea... but like now I am feeling that i dont wanna be with her so I told her that i needed some more time well yesterday I told her that i think that we should just be friends right now... well then I told her that if we dont get back together that we will always be best friends well she doesnt want that how can i let her down easy without cryin... i dont want her to get upset... someone help me with this.. please.. i dont want her to get crushed to bad
