What will happen to our housing and BAH if I move back home?

My husband and I just PCSed to our first duty station (stateside) and I planned on enrolling into a second degree nursing program in the spring, however, the closets school with this program is 3hrs 15mins away. The program is pretty intense and is 5 days a week, and cannot be completed online due to labs and clinicals. My husband was considering sending me back home so I can pursue the degree (its 12-15mths long). What would happen to our housing (we live on post) if I did move back temporarily? Would my husband have to vacate? And if they took it, would he be able to live in the barracks and still get BAH? Thanks for any info!
