Have you read "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson?

It clearly states in The Lottery that not only does Mrs. Hutchinson have a family of seventeen (including thirteen adopted daughters) but she has an extended family of hundreds. This touches upon the basic premise of The Lottery: that being perhaps the reciprocal of the clic "do good fences make good neighbors" argument and focuses upon the question of do good neighbors make better murderers? But this is besides the point. In writing a hypothetical obituary of Mrs. Hutchinson, be sure to include references to her enormous family, her love of sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and water sliding, and her xenophobic tendencies (as alluded to in her reference to "that darky" in the second section). Hope this helps.
