My 6 week old kitten won't eat.?

I just got a 6 week old kitten yesterday & he was on Purina Kitten Chow when I got him, I bought the exact food, but he has not eaten since i've had him. I have tried softening his food with water, but nothing seems to be working. I dont know if this is normal or not. Any suggestions?
